Floating 150g x 255mm
Long sweeps with big pauses make for big splashes with big slides.
Short sweeps allow for a faster action with lots of splashes.
Straight wind will swim subsurface with shimmy and tail kicks.
Fast jerks of the rod and constant wind with get it darting both above and below the surface.
The Arise responds best to a well timed sweep with slack line. To get the action in the video, you need to give it time to bob up to the surface, duck down once more and pop up one more time before you hit it with another sweep. This gives the tail time to sink down and allow for that big splash on the next sweep.
Action video is with 6/0 GT Recorder hooks with both long and short sweeps using a Ripple Fisher Ocean Ridge Power Fight GT711. For an ultra buoyant action you can use 5/0 and if you prefer a more subdued action you can use 7/0.
Splashy floating sticks can often be the key to switch fish on to the bite but the downside can often be the hookup rate. With the Arise we’ve done what we can to address this with some key features. When designing the Arise we went with a heavy tail weighting as it keeps a less buoyant part of the lure available for a fish to grab and has the inertia to help resist the pressure wave of the fish trying to eat it, ultimately converting more hits into hookups.
Another feature of the Arise is that its shape and weighting give it a deep enough dive to both easily handle rough water but also to get hang time under the surface at the end of a long sweep. At this point it can get eaten easily by lazy fish that don’t want to eat from the surface.
Timber construction with insanely thick epoxy shell.
